ABOUT KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
As a member of Knights of Columbus San Salvador Council No. 1, you’re also part of something much larger: a worldwide organization of over 1.9 million Catholic men who share your values and beliefs. Our council was founded in 1882 by Blessed Michael McGivney, an assistant pastor of St. Mary’s here in New Haven. Today, the Knights of Columbus remains true to its founding principles of charity, unity, and fraternity and is one of the largest Catholic fraternal organizations in the world. Following in Fr. McGivney’s vision of providing care for widows and orphans, the Order also provides top-rated life insurance for its members and their families, with over $100 billion of protection in force.
